FERGUSON, Mo. — The smoke has cleared in this riot-battered city, but the answer to one burning question remains hazy: Where was the National Guard on the night of the riots?

Gov. Jay Nixon had called up 700 members of the Missouri National Guard in advance of the grand jury decision. His order and the accompanying press release made it clear the primary mission of the soldiers was to secure "command posts, fire stations, and other locations" to "free up law enforcement." In short, they were there in a support role.

St. Louis Mayor Francis Slay made it even clearer. "The Guard is not going to be confronting protesters and is not going to be on the front lines interacting directly with the demonstrators," Slay said in the days before the decision.

Slay had asked for 400 Guard members, and he got them. They could be seen protecting empty buildings and landmarks in the downtown area at the same time rioters faced no resistance lighting fires in a dozen buildings in Ferguson and Dellwood.

Ferguson Mayor James Knowles was clearly upset when he assessed the situation the next morning. "It was my understanding they would be deployed when needed to maintain order and protect businesses. They were not," Knowles said.

The question remains: Why call up the National Guard and then keep them garrisoned outside Ferguson, the prime target of demonstrators?

The person to answer is the commander in chief of the Missouri National Guard, Gov. Nixon. Gannett investigators filed public records requests with the Guard and the governor's office. The Guard responded that all of its records are exempt from disclosure under Missouri law. The governor's deputy chief of staff responded that his officer was working on the request, "you should expect to hear back about the status of your request by no later than December 23, 2014."

Gannett reporters requested an interview with Nixon, driving to Jefferson City after giving his staff a day's notice. "The governor won't be available tomorrow, but we're also not scheduling any interviews at the current time," his spokesperson replied.

Gannett reporters did find one person at the state capital willing to talk about the deployment. Lt. Gov. Peter Kinder, a Republican, is a political rival of the governor, a Democrat. Kinder supported using the National Guard, but not the way Nixon deployed the soldiers.

The national cricket team selectors headed by Sandeep Patil took their decision over the 30 names of probable players list for the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 to be held in Australia and New Zealand. The crucial meeting conducted over the selection of World Cup probables was held on Thursday around 1 pm. The meeting was considered to be a D-day for the senior players like Yuvraj Singh, Virender Sehwag, Zaheer Khan, Gautam Gambhir and Harbhajan Singh (all part of World Cup winning team in 2011) to get a return-call in the national side, but thy were completely snubbed by the selectors.

The main yardstick for the selection of players has been the performance in bouncy and seaming conditions as it is what would be expected on Australian and New Zealand pitches. Defending champions, Team India that will fly Down Under with a good mix of experienced and young legs. Going by the selection made for World Cup 2015, one can get that the national selectors have stuck to the current combination of team playing under captain MS Dhoni. The selectors  would then select the final 15-members from this list of probables.

ICC World Cup 2015, co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand is expected to be an-all together different experience for the defending champions. For Team India, World Cup 2011 could be seen as an easy cake compared to what they are ought to witness Down Under. The flat tracks of subcontinent will be replaced by the fast, green and bouncy turf of WACA Ground, Perth, is meant to hunting ground for the pacers, something that Indian counterparts Australia, England and South Africa boast of.

reCAPTCHA protects the websites you love from spam and abuse. So, when you go online—say, for some last-minute holiday shopping—you won't be competing with robots and abusive scripts to access sites. For years, we’ve prompted users to confirm they aren’t robots by asking them to read distorted text and type it into a box, like this:

But, we figured it would be easier to just directly ask our users whether or not they are robots—so, we did! We’ve begun rolling out a new API that radically simplifies the reCAPTCHA experience. We’re calling it the “No CAPTCHA reCAPTCHA” and this is how it looks:

On websites using this new API, a significant number of users will be able to securely and easily verify they’re human without actually having to solve a CAPTCHA. Instead, with just a single click, they’ll confirm they are not a robot.

A brief history of CAPTCHAs 
While the new reCAPTCHA API may sound simple, there is a high degree of sophistication behind that modest checkbox. CAPTCHAs have long relied on the inability of robots to solve distorted text. However, our research recently showed that today’s Artificial Intelligence technology can solve even the most difficult variant of distorted text at 99.8% accuracy. Thus distorted text, on its own, is no longer a dependable test.

To counter this, last year we developed an Advanced Risk Analysis backend for reCAPTCHA that actively considers a user’s entire engagement with the CAPTCHA—before, during, and after—to determine whether that user is a human. This enables us to rely less on typing distorted text and, in turn, offer a better experience for users.  We talked about this in our Valentine’s Day post earlier this year.

The new API is the next step in this steady evolution. Now, humans can just check the box and in most cases, they’re through the challenge.

Are you sure you’re not a robot?

However, CAPTCHAs aren't going away just yet. In cases when the risk analysis engine can't confidently predict whether a user is a human or an abusive agent, it will prompt a CAPTCHA to elicit more cues, increasing the number of security checkpoints to confirm the user is valid.

Making reCAPTCHAs mobile-friendly
This new API also lets us experiment with new types of challenges that are easier for us humans to use, particularly on mobile devices. In the example below, you can see a CAPTCHA based on a classic Computer Vision problem of image labeling. In this version of the CAPTCHA challenge, you’re asked to select all of the images that correspond with the clue. It's much easier to tap photos of cats or turkeys than to tediously type a line of distorted text on your phone.

Adopting the new API on your site

As more websites adopt the new API, more people will see "No CAPTCHA reCAPTCHAs".  Early adopters, like Snapchat, WordPress, Humble Bundle, and several others are already seeing great results with this new API. For example, in the last week, more than 60% of WordPress’ traffic and more than 80% of Humble Bundle’s traffic on reCAPTCHA encountered the No CAPTCHA experience—users got to these sites faster. Honda Car!! Expand Takata Air Bag Recall Nationwide

Honda said Wednesday it will expand a recall of autos equipped with defective driver's side air bags made by Japan's Takata Corp. to all 50 states, The Associated Press reported. The announcement comes as Takata, automakers and the nation's auto safety watchdog appear before a House subcommittee to testify about the faulty air bags. Under certain conditions, the air bags can expand with too much force, spewing shrapnel at passengers. They have been linked to at least five deaths, yet Takata has so far declined to broaden the recall nationwide despite a demand from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

U.S. lawmakers on Wednesday criticized Japanese supplier Takata Corp for resisting a call by regulators to expand nationwide its regional recall of driver-side air bags that can potentially rupture upon deployment, shooting metal shards into vehicles. The hearing by a House Energy and Commerce subcommittee comes after Takata told the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration on Tuesday that current data does not support the need for such an expanded recall.

It also said it was surprised by the agency's request because a defect investigation has not been concluded. NHTSA late on Tuesday called Takata's response "disappointing," a sentiment also expressed by lawmakers during Wednesday's hearing. "We are very disappointed in Takata, refusing to work with NHTSA on the deadline for a national recall of the driver-side air bags," said Republican Representative Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee.

Takata is at the center of a global safety scandal that has involved the recall of more than 16 million cars worldwide over the past six years and been linked to at five fatalities. However, Takata and automakers have struggled to pinpoint the exact cause of the defect, and have directed a limited supply of replacement parts to regions with high humidity, which is believed to cause the air bag propellant to become more volatile.

Takata on Wednesday acknowledged that it still doesn't know exactly what has been causing the air bag malfunctions.

"Congressman, we don't identify the root cause yet," Hiroshi Shimizu, a Takata safety executive who gave his testimony with help from an interpreter told Representative John Sarbanes. "But we are of the strong opinion that (there) is a factor contributing to this defect: which is high humidity, temperature and the life of the product."

How To Impress a Girl in 90 secs..If you are weak in English

Before I start, I wanna tell you… I am not a sexist and I am definitely not a believer of Men are from Mars and Women are from Venus concept. But I do agree that when it comes to impressing the opposite gender there are certain rules…And here they are, how to impress a girl :

1) Choose a girl of your level (I mean if you are a ugly troll then don’t go thinking that you can impress a girl like Katrina Kaif or Elisha Cuthbert after reading this article, I will not be responsible for the slaps and cases that may follow).

3) Now you are on the clock, studies have shown that a female brain will only entertain a male if he makes an interesting gesture in the first 10 secs. Always open the conversation with a simple hi or hello don’t go opening your mouth with “Yo” or “Wassup” (trust me in this case cause I have tried and the girl though that I was high or something). Also always look a girl in her eyes. Even if she doesn’t like you, she will still remember you. (I base this on a sentence from Valkyrie, Before the guy gets executed the officer tells him to look into the eyes of the shooter before they shoot him, because then he will be remembered by them) Of course in this case you are not going to die but you still will be remembered.

4) Ask a simple and a cheesy question for e.g. About her tuition classes… Or make up a place where you saw her. If she answers with a simple “yes” or a place, without a smile or an expression then she is not interested or she has a boyfriend (that’s the end of the line for you dum dum) Move to the next girl. But if you get the answer with a smile or an enthusiastic behavior it means that she is interested in talking to you (I am still not claiming she doesn’t have a boyfriend)

5) This happens in time span of 20 secs, Now next step is not to ask her name (though us boys being experts on background checks already know it) Now if she likes English phrases or is fluent in the language… Throw around some sarcastic jokes. Make her smile always try to relate to an incident that happened in front of you or if you saw someone funny. Don’t come on too strong though. Don’t crack desperate jokes like Chandler (F.R.I.E.N.D.S) or act all Barneyish (How I Met Your Mother). Keep it cool. Keep it simple. Keep it funny.

6) Now that you have made her laugh (in a normal and an un-threatened way) it’s time to start a normal conversation. Now a few pointers, you have already told her where you saw her, don’t ask “what, why” questions about the place where you saw her. It’s always good to come off as the good guy and not the stalker (trust me cause if you become the stalker then its likely going to get you a meeting with one of her guy friends). Start about the upcoming exams (always gets a person a talking) Share some info that you think she might not know, for example, the date of an Entrance Exam… Or date of a form submission. (if you are not sure about it then start as “there is a rumor that…”) She will confirm it.

7) If you get this far then you are in (not in the vulgar way idiot). Now saying bye is where it matters. If you like the girl and she tells you to stick around, please don’t. Make up some excuse, and get the hell out of there. Why? Because like I said let her remember you. So the next time, you don’t have to read this article but the next time she will just say hi (and do most of the talking herself) Now back to saying good bye. It is a very crucial part of conversation. When you give her a hint that you are leaving say this “It was nice talking to you + NAME”. She will ask for yours. Please answer with your name, plain and simple. Don’t use hyper tones in saying your name, don’t crack jokes on your name and say it with dignity. She will remember your name exactly the way you say it. In the rare case that you don’t know her name now is the time to ask. But ask her like this “It was nice talking to you?” at the end of the sentence put a question mark look on your face. She will tell you with a sweet smile. Then? Leave. Say a simple bye followed with “see you around sometimes” wait for her to reply. Take two steps, turn around smile and wave bye. (Now please don’t look back again or else you are going to seem like a weirdo)

                       Couple of points to remember:

1) To check if she has a boyfriend or not  Most girls have either a pet boyfriend or a watcher boyfriend. And here is how you distinguish between the two) A pet boyfriend is usually the one who is a bit weak (physically) and who looks at you and then looks the other way. If she is still talking to you despite that guy being there without any apparent acknowledgement of him being there then you get the green signal. These boyfriends are a fairly easy to talk to and they are not the jealous types, so they can be your friend. However, a watcher boyfriend is someone who you have too lookout for. Observe the girl from a distance, if there is a guy around her who has his eyes all over the place (not looking at girls but with a cold stare) then he is looking for guys like you. This guy is the jealous type (he is most likely to give you a black eye or some bruises atleast if you don’t play it well). When you go over to her, talk normally, look at the both of them and play it cool. Don’t fidget while talking and don’t let your eyes wander over the girl for even a second. Keep looking at the both of them and keep playing it cool. Even if the guy gets some wrong vibes (for some weird reason they always do) you will have still made an impression on the girl, and like I have quoted you will be remembered.

2) If you are physically weak (fat or thin) then make sure that you don’t let her notice it. I mean don’t suck in your stomach and walk like Govinda from partner. But be confident about yourself. It is always a good idea to steer clear of the physical looks topic. This is because you will never come off as the “shallow type”.

3) Always remember that even if a girl is like a “Gothic Chick” in the end the sweet guy that understands her always wins. True story.

Foreigners and women given more active roles The Samsung Group promoted fewer executives this year in its management shakeup amid lackluster performance at its flagship unit Samsung Electronics.     In total, the company promoted 353 executives ― 42 as new executive vice presidents, 58 senior vice presidents and 253 vice presidents. This represents a reduction of more than 20 percent from last year, when Samsung elevated 476 executives. "This year's reshuffle reaffirmed Samsung's long-time principle that promotion is based on performance," it said. The group elevated 165 executives at Samsung Electronics, compared to 227 last year and 226 in 2013. The group promoted 22 executives at Samsung Electronics' memory chip division, however, as its chip business remained strong throughout the year. Samsung's experienced PR officials were given increased roles as Lee Joon, head of communication at Samsung Future Strategy Office, was promoted to executive vice president. Also, Nho Seung-maan, who has long been handled the conglomerate's external affairs, was also promoted to executive vice president. The office is a control tower that handles all key decisions on affiliates. For Samsung Electronics, this year provided its lowest numbers of the last four years. While Samsung's mobile chief Shin Jong-kyun retained his current position, the size of its handset business will be scaled down. Three presidents of the division's key units, including Lee Don-joo, head of strategy at the mobile unit, will be leaving the company. "Samsung Electronics is on track to improve profitability by realigning business strategies and restructuring business divisions that have been questioned over sustainability," said a company official. For the third quarter, profit at Samsung's handset business, a key earnings engine, were nearly halved from last year, amid intensified competition with its chief Chinese rivals. Women, foreigners given more roles Thursday's reshuffle on executive-level positions highlighted the group's commitment to giving women and foreigners senior roles within the conglomerate. Samsung promoted 14 women, compared to 15 last year. Ha Hae-seung, who joined Samsung from Hewlett-Packard, was promoted to senior vice president. Samsung said Ha helped the company expand its printer business and boost partnerships with key clients. Stressing the company's steady progress toward women and foreigners, the group has promoted nine foreigners as executive-level positions. "Regardless of nationality and skin color, Samsung hires proven foreigners as we are a global company. Our top priority is to have a human-oriented management philosophy," it said. David Steel, head of communications at Samsung Electronics America, was elevated to executive vice president, making him the third foreigner to hold the title. Lee Min, who managed the development of curved UHD TVs, was also promoted to executive-level, while Samsung SDS' Ahn Dae-joong and Samsung C&T's Seol Chang-woo were recognized for their huge contribution to cutting costs and improving competitiveness. Samsung will announce a further divisional shakeup next week.

Mission: Impossible 5 is an upcoming American action spy film directed by Christopher McQuarrie and written byDrew Pearce and Will Staples. It is the fifth film in the Mission: Impossible series. It stars Tom Cruise, who reprises his role of IMF Agent Ethan Hunt. It is produced by Cruise, J. J. Abrams, and Bryan Burk.

Filming began on August 21, 2014 in Vienna, Austria. The film is scheduled to be released in North America byParamount Pictures on December 25, 2015.

Pre-production

The film will be directed by Christopher McQuarrie and Drew Pearce will be writing the film. Paramount Pictures and Skydance Productions have signed a deal with Tom Cruise to reprise the role of Ethan Hunt and produce. Jeremy Renner is reported to return as William Brandt. On November 13, 2013, a release date of December 2015 was announced. In November 2013, Simon Pegg confirmed that he will reprise his role as Benji. On November 22, director tweeted thatRobert Elswit would be director of photography for the film. In May 2014, Will Staples was announced as working on the script for the fifth film. Cruise confirmed the fifth installment of the film will shoot in London. In June, Renner confirmed his return for the fifth installment. The film will be shot in Vienna in August before moving to the United Kingdom.

In July 2014, Rebecca Ferguson was cast and Alec Baldwin was in talks for the fifth film. Baldwin was confirmed to have joined the cast in August 2014. andVing Rhames was confirmed to be reprising his role of Luther Stickell. On September 5, it was announced that Sean Harris was being negotiated with the studio for the villain role. On October 2, Simon McBurney joined the cast of the film. On October 6, Chinese actress Zhang Jingchu joined the film's cast for a major role.

Filming

Principal photography began in August 2014. On August 21, the first photos from the set in Vienna, Austria were released. On August 22, actors Cruise and Pegg along with director Christopher McQuarrie were spotted at Vienna's Metro. Later on the day Cruise and Ferguson were also spotted during the filming some stunt (jumping) scenes from the roof-top of Vienna State Opera. On August 26, actors were again spotted filming scenes in Vienna. After finishing the one and a half week filming in Austria, on August 30, actor Cruise arrived in Rabat, Morocco for the filming of remaining scenes. Here the Marrakesh Highway was closed for 14 days (August 30-September 12). Other filming locations in Morocco include Agadir and Rabat, On September 2, Cruise was spotted racing the car 2015 F80 BMW M3 in Derb sultane, Casablanca. On September 8 and 9, filming took place in The Marrakesh Stadium, which was closed both days for the filming purpose. On September 26, Cruise was reportedly filming scenes doing his own stunts in a BMW car in Kasbah of the Udayas in capital city Rabat.

After more than a month of shooting in Austria and Morocco, the production started commencing the shoot in London on September 28. On October 7, a trailer was seen carrying a lot of damaged BMW M3s from the the set after filming in Morocco. On October 10, Cruise and his stuntman Wade Eastwood were spotted during filming some scenes in Monaco, lead actress Ferguson also spotted. On November 9, filming began in the village Southampton Water, while the crews were spotted arriving at Fawley Power Station before filming started.
